Biography
Dr. Stennett received her bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 2011. She then completed her master’s degree jointly at University on North Florida and The Mayo Clinic – Jacksonville in 2013. There, her research focused on novel therapies for nicotine addiction in alcohol dependent rats. In 2018, Dr. Stennett completed her Ph.D. at the University of Florida. Her dissertation research focused on the effects of simultaneous cocaine and alcohol self-administration on striatal glutamate. In August of 2018, she joined the Center for Pain Research and Behavioral Health as a Post-Doctoral Associate. Dr. Stennett’s current research focuses around the analgesic effects of alcohol consumption in models of acute and chronic pain as well as the self-medication of pain with alcohol.
